HEAVY METAL INDIANS LLC (HMI LLC)
Blackhorse Lowe and Dylan Brodie in collaboration with local film collectives offer film mentorship programs through production and post-production opportunities in Tulsa.
By bringing on young and underserved local talent to professional film settings, HMI plans to provide on-the-job training from all aspects of film production in Tulsa's growing film industry. It is our aim to create a catalogue of local professional film talent for productions in Oklahoma, from independent films to TV sets and large Hollywood budget features.
Leadership and mentors from acclaimed projects such as FX/Hulu's Reservation Dogs, Paramount's Joe Pickett, Amazon Prime's Outer Range, Academy Award-winning Minari and the recent Sundance Film Festival premiere Fancy Dance will provide the tools and training to HMI's film mentees.
HMI LLC is dedicated to a diverse, equitable and inclusive workspace. Our leaders come from diverse backgrounds and have helped pave the way for minority representation on screen, providing new outlets and opportunities for those whose voices are too often overlooked.
Available training programs include but is not limited to:
- camera and sound
- costume and set design
- editing and post-production mixing
Open Call for Mentee applications will open September 5, 2023.
Production Training Program starts mid-October 2023.
Post-Production Training Program begins in early 2024.
