Los Angeles slacker and punk rocker Otto finds himself jobless and disillusioned, but his life takes a turn when he meets Bud, who introduces him to the high-speed and dangerous world of repossessing cars. Intrigued by the chance to make big money, Otto teams up with an enigmatic woman who believes a 1964 Chevrolet Malibu holds extraterrestrial secrets in its trunk. As they delve deeper, they become embroiled in a wild and thrilling underworld of corruption and greed. Set against the backdrop of Reagan-era America, the film captures the essence of the punk era, offering a satirical commentary on 1980s consumerism. With iconic punk representation and stellar performances from Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez, it has rightfully earned its status as an enduring and unparalleled cult classic.
